Sailing for Kids and Teens

Teen Sailing- Ages 12-17

Teen Sailing programs provide an opportunity to learn to sail or build on existing skills in our Pacer dinghies. Bring your friends or meet new ones along the way! Learn to Sail is our beginner group, for individuals who have little or no experience sailing. Alternatively, if you are looking to build on existing sailing skills, Better Sailing is for you! Better sailing begins teaching intermediate/ advanced sailing skills.

$350 per child

Home Education Groups- Ages 7-17

This program is undertaken in our optimist Dinghies or Pacer Dinghies, dependent on age. Children and teens learn to sail in a fun and safe environment. All sessions are accompanied by a qualified Australian Sailing Instructor

$50 per session

Tackers 1 & 2- Children 7-12 years

Australian Sailing Tackers Program - "Kids + Boats = Fun!" This fun-based learning program in our Tackers dinghies leads to a nationally recognised certificate. tackers learn the basics of sailing our optimist dinghies with a partner or solo! Start with Tackers 1 for complete beginners, then move onto Tackers 2.

$350 per child

Sailability- Individuals with additional needs

You may be neurodiverse, have a physical or intellectual disability or another need which means that jumping straight into one of our regular Tackers or Learn to Sail courses isn’t for you. The BoatShed warmly welcomes everyone, and our skilled team is adept at tailoring sailing experiences to suit your unique needs.
