For teenagers wanting to learn to sail they can also undertake courses at The Boatshed. Teenage Learn to Sail Introduction - is only a taste, a short session and for those unsure whether they want to do the full course or not. Teenager Learn to Sail 20 hour program is an accredited 20 hours Small Boat Sailing Basic Skills 2 program. At the end of the course we expect you to be able to jump on any boat, big and small and be a valuable sailing member. The next level is the Better Sailing program , great fun and an accredited 12 hour program. At the end of the course you will be competant sailors and ready to proceed to racing skills. You must have completed the Sailing Skills 1 and 2 program to participate. The Boatshed supplies the boats, PFD1 life jackets and instructors. What you need to bring: Bathers, Towel, Wetsuit (if available), Shorts (also ideal over wetsuit for protection), thermal underclothes ideal if available, polyester shirts and tops recommended, woolen or thermal jumpers, windproof and waterproof jacket, old sneakers or wetsuit boots, sailing gloves if available, bike golf gloves etc are good).
